CRECHE MINISTRY: BUILDING FAITH FROM BIRTH

When Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem, every family mattered. Building God’s community was not only about the strong hands carrying stones, it was about creating a place where God’s people, including the next generation, could belong.

That same conviction is behind our new Crèche Ministry.

Started in April 2026, the Crèche provides a safe and loving place for our youngest children during Sunday services. But it is more than giving young parents one-and-a-half hours to worship. Through every welcome, comforting embrace, and moment of play, we are telling our little ones: You are known. You are treasured. You belong to God’s family.

Today, 16 little ones are cared for by only 7 faithful co-labourers. Week after week, they bend, kneel and squat to meet these children at their level. They learn their different ways, comfort their tears and patiently earn their trust.

And then something beautiful happens.

A child who once cried begins to settle down and eventually sings and laughs. A parent who once found it difficult to leave begins to walk out of the room peacefully, knowing that their little one is being cared for by brothers and sisters in Christ.

This is how Christ builds His community.

At two years old, our children may not remember every activity, but they are already experiencing what Christian community feels like: patience, compassion, consistency and love. At the same time, the church is coming alongside young parents and reminding them that raising children in faith is not something they do alone.

EPHESIANS 4:16 reminds us that Christ’s body grows and builds itself up in love “as each part does its work.” Perhaps your part involves very small hands. You do not need to be an early-childhood expert. You need a willing heart, patient arms, and a readiness to serve alongside others.
