STORY 09
STRUCTURED BIBLE STUDY MINISTRIES:
BUILDING LIVES ON GOD’S WORD
When Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem, rebuilding the walls was not enough. God’s people also needed to be rebuilt from within. In Nehemiah 8, they gathered to hear God’s Word, and as they understood it, their hearts and lives were changed.
That same desire is at the heart of our structured Bible study ministries: Church Wide Bible Study (CWBS) and Precept Bible Study.
One CWBS participant shared that before joining, Bible reading often felt sporadic and overwhelming. But through the discipline of studying Scripture regularly with others, something changed: “Now, I hear God speaking through His Word in the middle of my week, not just on Sundays.”
This is how Christ builds His community, one life shaped by His Word at a time.
Since 2010, CWBS has helped believers study Scripture through personal study, small-group discussion, teaching, written commentary and shepherding care. Participants not only learn together but pray, encourage one another and seek to live out what they discover in God’s Word.
Our Precept Bible Study, which began in 2007 with about 10 participants, has grown to around 70 regular learners. Through inductive Bible study, participants learn to observe what Scripture says, interpret what it means, and apply it to their lives.
Different methods, but one purpose: to know Christ through His Word and become His disciples together.
EPHESIANS 4:16 reminds us that the whole body grows “as each part does its work.” Some come to learn. Others facilitate discussions, teach, shepherd or quietly support the ministry. As each person plays a part, the whole community grows deeper in Christ.
Perhaps you have always wanted to understand the Bible better but do not know where to begin. Or perhaps God is calling you to help others discover the riches of His Word.
Come, open the Bible with us. Let His Word build you, so that together we may build His community.
