HEART TO HEART WITH REV RACHEL - Learning And Journeying Together

I was born into a Christian family and have been part of the church since I was a child, attending Sunday School, prayer meetings, and Sunday services as part of my weekly routine. When I was twelve, I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior after hearing how much He loves me and offers true freedom from sin. Since then, my faith has been an important part of my life.

I first trained in Children’s Education at the National Institute of Education and furthered my studies in this field. Before entering full-time ministry, I worked as a preschool principal for eight years and also taught as an adjunct lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic and SEED Institute for five years. These experiences, together with serving in different church ministries, have shaped my love for learning, growing together with others, and walking alongside people in their faith journey.

Following God’s call, I went on to study theology at Trinity Theological College, where I trained for ministry and prepared to serve Him more fully.

Over the years, I have been blessed to serve in various areas of the church from children’s ministries to young people, including young adults, and young couples, as well as music and community outreach. Serving alongside people of all ages has taught me so much, helped me grow in faith, and inspired me to continue learning and serving with a heart that is open and teachable.

I am married to Joseph Tang, who also serves as a pastor with Singapore Thomas Road Baptist Church, and we are blessed with two boys, Immanuel, who is 27, and Jeremiah, who is 25.

My hope is to journey together with you, growing closer to Jesus, learning from one another, and living out our faith in everyday life.

Building His Missional Community,

Pastor Rachel
