Today, as we celebrate Parents' Day, we are reminded of a powerful truth: Love grows through commitment. So does faith. Faith grows best when we grow together—but only when we commit.
Commitment really matters! It’s not just a “nice-to-have” for our Care Groups—it’s what makes real community possible. Think about it: in a family, love does not deepen because everything is perfect. Love deepens because family members stay, show up, and carry one another’s burdens—through joy, struggle, and every messy moment in between. It’s the same with our spiritual family. Without real commitment
Family suffers.
Trust stays shallow.
Care feels mechanical.
And CG begins to feel like just another task, not a true place of belonging. CG is not about filling time. It’s about building lives—lives anchored in Christ and intertwined with each other. Commitment is not just about showing up with our bodies. It’s about showing up with our hearts. It’s about saying, “I am here, not just for myself, but for you too.”
When you commit to your CG, you commit to—
Encourage when someone’s faith feels weak.
Pray when someone cannot find the words.
Bear burdens when life feels too heavy to carry alone.
Celebrate victories when God answers prayers.
The Bible says in Galatians 6:2: “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” You cannot carry someone’s burden if you are not there. You cannot celebrate someone’s breakthrough if you are not present to witness their journey. And yes, commitment costs something. It costs time. It costs comfort. It costs flexibility. But what you gain is priceless—
A community that is real.
Relationships that are deep.
Faith that is alive.
A love that reflects Jesus.
This Parents' Day—and this CG Month—let’s honour the love and commitment of our Heavenly Father, who never leaves us and always welcomes us home. As His children, let’s live out the same faithful love in our Care Groups, building a spiritual family that reflects His grace and truth.
Let’s not settle for casual. Let’s not settle for shallow. Let’s commit. Let’s build something real together.
Because faith grows best when we grow together in Christ.
