Announcements:

  • Sunday School Health Advisory: All Sunday School students (pre-school to youth) are advised not to attend Sunday School if they have:
    (i) symptoms of hand, foot and mouth disease ie fever, mouth ulcers, rashes on the palms, soles of feet and buttocks 
    (ii) any febrile illness
    For Pre-School Dept, teachers will screen children at the door starting from today and for the next few weeks. Parents are advised to keep their children at home if they show signs of the above symptoms. Your co-operation is greatly appreciated.
  • Putting Counseling and Helping into Action.
    Date & Time of Workshop: 24 May 2008, Saturday, 2 to 6pm @ Music Room 2.
    Workshop Fees: $5.00. Workshop Facilitator: Dn (Dr) Chong Wan Har. Wan Har teaches educational and counseling psychology at the National Institute of Education, NTU. For optimum benefit of participants, workshop size will be capped at 30 participants (ladies only). Registration for this workshop starts today!
  • Parents’ Day Dinner. For those who have registered, please be at Jade Room Restaurant (36, Newton Road #02-01 Hotel Royal; Tel: 6251-8135) by 6pm next Sunday (11 May). Please be reminded that there are limited car-parking lots, do come early; if you have any query, please contact Dn. Joseph Tan.
  • Baptism / Confirmation / Transfer.
    The communicant classes will commence next Sunday, 11 May. Please contact Elder Goh if you have any queries.
  • CG Leaders' Training - This set of 4-Sunday classes organised by the CG Committee will begin on May 11 (May 11 - June 1) 11:30am - 1:00pm in GPC room #04-13. The course will equip CG Leaders and potential CG Leaders in shepherding a Care Group. CG's are encouraged to send 3 members to the classes (CG Leader, Assistant Leader, potential Leader). Please refer to Page 11 for more details.
  • Fellowship for Indonesian Domestic Workers in GPC. This fellowship has commenced on Sunday, 20 April 2008, from 9.30 am to 11.00am in Room #04-06 above the Chapel. The fellowship is conducted in the Indonesian language and run by volunteers and full-time workers of Esther Network of the Fellowship of Evangelical Students (Singapore). All GPC worshippers with Indonesian domestic workers in the church premises during worship time may encourage them to attend this fellowship. They simply need to report to the person-in-charge at the location. Please contact Elder Andrew Sabaratnam if you require further details or if you are interested to help out in this ministry.

  • Leadership Training. The training on Westminster Shorter Catechism is on Monday, 19 May (Vesak Day holiday) from 1pm till 5pm. Please register at the library counter by 27 April so that logistical arrangements can be well prepared. Church members interested in knowing more about the Reformed faith are welcomed.
  • CG Leaders' Training -  This 4-Sunday class organised by the CG Committee will begin on May 11 (May 11 - June 1) 11:30am - 1:00pm in GPC room #04-13. This course will equip CG Leaders and potential CG Leaders in shepherding a Care Group. CG's are encouraged to send 3 members to the class (CG Leader, Assistant Leader, potential Leader).   • Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Day Women Class at Bukit Timah. There will be an Introduction class this Wednesday, 16 April at GPC Main Sanctuary; 9.00am to 11.00am.
  • Fellowship for Indonesian Domestic Workers in GPC. This fellowship will commence on Sunday, 20 April 2008, from 9.30 am to 11.00am in Room #04-06 above the Chapel. The fellowship will be conducted in the Indonesian language and run by volunteers and full-time workers of Esther Network of the Fellowship of Evangelical Students (Singapore). It will also provide insights from Daniel’s life on how to live out a Biblical worldview in these last days. This course uses materials & Kay Arthur’s DVDs from the Precept Upon Precept ministry. The cost of the Study Notes is $18.

    • “God’s Unfolding Purpose” This 3-Sunday class by Elder Ang Jing Chai will start on 6 April. The aim of the course is to give an overview of God’s purpose in covenantal relationships with His chosen people, which is especially reassuring in this world of broken promises and broken dreams. God’s dealing with mankind works under the overarching framework of covenants which He sovereignly executes. The goal of that plan is for Him to be in relationship with people whom he has created. But that relationship interrupted by the entrance of sin must be reconstituted through the covenant of redemption. This is to be seen as continuity from the Old Testament to the New Testament rather than two separate workings.

    56J BB Singapore Company (Bt Timah Primary School)  for acheiving The J M Fraser Award for Excellence - Bronze Award
    57J BB Singapore Company (Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School) for achieving The J M Fraser Award for Excellence  - Silver Award.
    The J M Fraser Award for Excellence was introduced to allow BB units to evaluate themselves in the effectiveness and efficiency of their running of the unit's programme and acivities. It also contributes towards schools' attainment of the MOE Sustained Achievement Award. The church would like to thank all helpers and BB officers for their commitment and hardwork in receving the achevement award.

  • Our condolences to Ms. Helen Lim whose brother, the late Mr. Lim Chong Beng was called home to be with the Lord on 9 March 2008.
  • The Church would like to welcome NGUYEN KIM CHAU from Vietnam, who is doing her M. Div at TTC. She will be doing her Field Education with the Youth Fellowship for one year.

  • CEC – “God’s Unfolding Purpose” is now open for registration at CEC counter:
    This 3-Sunday class by Elder Ang Jing Chai will start on 6 April. The aim of the course is to give an overview of God’s purpose in covenantal relationships with His chosen people, which is especially reassuring in this world of broken promises and broken dreams. God’s dealing with mankind works under the overarching framework of covenants which He sovereignly executes. The goal of that plan is for Him to be in relationship with people whom he has created. But that relationship interrupted by the entrance of sin must be reconstituted through the covenant of redemption. This is to be seen as continuity from the Old Testament to the New Testament rather than two separate workings.
  • Thai Introductory Lessons (Level 1) will start on 24 March (Mon) 8 - 930pm.   • Spiritual Warfare: Satan is a master at mixing the truth with deception in your mind and causing confusion. If you do believe God's Word, he will try to choke the Word that is in you, by using the lusts of this world, the cares of this life, the pleasures of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and many other devices. This 2-Sunday course by Edr Andrew Sabaratnam begins on 24th February. It will examine the existence, personality, nature and activity of Satan, and how he has been deceiving the world through the ages.
  • Growing Kids: This condensed parenting course by Dn Leong Kok Ho is ideal for parents with children of 2 - 6 years old. Both parents should attend together. Part I - Foundations and Character Development (3-Sundays) starts on 2nd March, while Part II - Discipline and Obedience (3-Sundays) will begin on 6th April. This programme is adapted from "Growing Kids God's way" (www.gfi.org).

  • Lunar New Year Combined Service: Sunday, 10 February (4th day of Lunar New Year) at the Main Sanctuary, 7.30am.
